DareDrop ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the DareDrop mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you create an account and use DareDrop:

• Account information — your email address, username, display name, and password (stored securely via hashed authentication)
• Profile information — optional bio, location, school, profile photo, and links you choose to add
• User-generated content — dare videos you record and post, comments you write, and reactions you send
• Device information — push notification token so we can deliver dare alerts to your device
• Usage data — dare completion dates, streaks, and pinned content associated with your account

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Operate and provide the DareDrop service
• Send you a daily dare notification at a random time each day (only if you have notifications enabled)
• Display your profile and content to you and, where applicable, to other users
• Enable social features such as friendships, reactions, and comments
• Maintain the integrity and security of the platform
• Respond to support requests and communicate with you about your account

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. How We Store Your Information

Your account data, profile information, and activity records are stored in a secure database provided by Supabase, Inc. Your dare videos and media files are stored using Cloudflare R2 object storage. Both services implement industry-standard security measures including encryption at rest and in transit.

4. Third-Party Services

DareDrop uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Supabase — database and authentication (Privacy Policy)
• Cloudflare R2 — video file storage (Privacy Policy)
• Expo / Expo Push Notifications — mobile app infrastructure and push delivery (Privacy Policy)

5. Your Content and Visibility

Dare videos you post may be visible to other users of DareDrop, including your friends on the platform. You can delete your dare post at any time from within the app, which removes it from our servers. Pinned dares on your profile are visible to anyone who views your profile within the app.

6. Push Notifications

With your permission, we send one push notification per day to alert you when the daily dare is available. You can disable notifications at any time in the DareDrop Settings screen or in your device's system settings.

7. Children's Privacy

DareDrop is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information and associated content from our systems within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Opt out of push notifications at any time
